Our Story

Founded in 2000, Badenheath German Shepherds prides itself in producing only the best representations of the breed. As breeders we focus on health, longevity, intelligence and temperament. Our dogs are equally at home both on the Schutzhund field and on your couch with the family. These dogs can do it all and will forever impact your home.

Located on over 13 acres in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York, near Buffalo and Rochester, our dogs are personal companions first and foremost. You will not find traditional “kennel dogs” here. Each dog is a member of our family, gets regular house time and interact with our 4 young children, cats, chickens, goats and whatever other farm animal finds itself within our barn. The dogs regularly go on hikes with us in the hundreds of acres of forest surrounding our home. Taking care of the dogs is a family affair and guarantees our dogs the love and attention they deserve. We space litters and are extremely selective in our breeding program, utilizing only the top lines with proven structure, working ability and temperaments. We focus on healthy hips and longevity so that your new addition will be an unforgettable companion for many, many years. You will find our companions from New York City, south to Florida, across the East coast and as far west as Alberta, Canada! Our dogs aren’t just handsome faces, but exude intelligence, a protective nature, loyalty and the bomb-proof, family dog temperament a true Shepherd should have.
